How do I scan receipts into Excel?+
Upload your receipts (PDF, JPG, or PNG — scans and phone photos both work), describe the columns you want in plain language — for example date, merchant, category, net, VAT, total — and download the result as Excel, CSV, or JSON. There are no templates to configure; the prompt is the whole setup.
Does it work with photos of paper receipts?+
Yes. Phone photos, scans, and digital PDFs all work, including crumpled or faded thermal-paper receipts within reason. When print quality makes a value genuinely uncertain, that cell gets a Review Needed flag instead of a silent guess, so you know exactly which of a hundred receipts deserve a second look.
Can it extract line items, or just receipt totals?+
Both — you choose in the prompt. One row per receipt (date, merchant, total) is the common bookkeeping shape; one row per line item (item, quantity, price, with the merchant and date repeated) is there when you need item-level detail from store or supplier receipts.
Can it categorize expenses automatically?+
Yes — describe the categories you use and the AI assigns them as it extracts, for example travel, meals, fuel, materials, or office supplies. You can also give mapping rules in plain language, like treating any fuel-station merchant as vehicle expenses.
What about receipts in other languages or currencies?+
Receipts in German, Spanish, Greek, and dozens of other languages convert the same way, including mixed batches. Ask for the currency in its own column, or for amounts exactly as printed.
